Jay Posner is reporting for the Union Tribune that the XX Sports Radio morning show hosted by Scott Kaplan and Billy Ray Smith will be off the air for an indefinite length of time beginning Monday morning due to a contract dispute. This is the fourth San Diego morning radio show to be canceled or otherwise shaken up in the past year, with Star’s Jeff and Jer Showgram, Rock 105′s Mikey Show, and Dave Shelly and Chainsaw all finding themselves squeezed out of a floundering radio industry.

wow… that was the last radio show i really kinda still enjoyed. guess i have to listen to more podcasts.
br is ok but kaplan gets on my nerves. i’d rather listen to darren smith but even he gets a little annoying. things must not be looking good for DSC to return anytime soon, ruth 66 was giving the traffic updates this morning on 1090…
I hope this radio station gets it act together, every morning I am entertained by scott and billy ray. care less for hacksaw
“best 15 minutes in radio. from oceanside to otay. the inland empire. orange. i wanna hear from you.”
San Diego and Southern California, Sound off!!!! I wanna talk sports with you!!
CALL ME!! “I want to talk SPORTS with you!!”
Kaplan annoyed me 90 percent of the time but loved BR. Kevin ACee and BR in the am!
I cannot stand the “Scott and BR” show. At the surface, they have nothing prepared and it appears to be random talking about their latest experience in walking into a market with some sports discussion. Scott is annoying and BR laughs at anything. IF you were to record the total time they spent on sports facts, trade rumors and prediction and divide by their total time on the air (less commercials) the percentage of info a listner gets is 8%. Hence I known people immediately change the station to ESPN to listen to sports news before getting into work…cannot get that with Scott and BR show.
I looked forward to “Scott and BR” in the morning, now 1090 has some drivel from SNR. I don’t even turn to 1090 anymore.
terrestrial radio is dead. check out podcasts. for sports i like “spider and the henchman” hosted by kevin hench and john salley or “the bs report” with bill simmons.
