Chad Huffman Wins Triple-A Home Run Derby

Padres minor leaguer Chad Huffman of the Portland Beavers won the Triple-A Home Run Derby tonight at PCE Park in Portland. He faced off against the Triple-A home run leader Shelly Duncan in the final round and out scored him 5-1. Huffman hit a total of 15 home runs, 7 in the first round, 3 in the semi finals and 5 in the final round while Duncan finished with 10 overall. – Read More

Cole Figueroa Named Midwest League Player of the Week

Shortstop Cole Figueroa has been on a tear since being assigned to Fort Wayne earlier this season, hitting .360 in his stint with the TinCaps. The past week only helped his average, as Figueroa led the league with a blazing .526 mark. He wrapped up the span with a pair of strong performances at Peoria, going 3-for-4 with two doubles on July 11, and 1-for-2 with an RBI and two walks the following day. – MiLB.com
